About me

My name is Scott Toliver, and this will be my second year as 5th grade social studies teacher at White Oak Intermediate School.

I am so excited to be here, and I’m looking forward to getting to know your children and show them my love of history.

My family and I have lived in White Oak for the past 23 years, and my oldest son, Jackson graduated from WOISD in 2017.  He recently graduated from Texas A&M and he is an engineer in Frisco, Texas.  Our younger son, Davis, is a senior at WOISD.  He plays baseball, and he is a pitcher for the varsity.  Both of our sons are National Honor Society members.  My wife, Kendra is a dyslexia specialist for Pine Tree ISD.  She has been a teacher for 24 years. We welcomed our first grandchild, Charlotte, in July!

Prior to entering the teaching field, I was employed by Child Protective Services in a variety of positions for almost 28 years.  I retired as a child safety specialist and case analyst for state office for CPS, and I am very proud of the work that I did there.

In my spare time, I love gardening and kayaking.  We grow lots of vegetables, and we enjoy making salsa and other goodies for our friends.  I kayak all over East Texas, and I especially enjoy paddling around Caddo lake and Big Cypress Bayou.

We have two dogs, a Welsh Corgi named Bella, and my constant companion, a Pit Bull Terrier named Ava.  We have 2 Siamese cats named Cleo and Lucy.
