Alliance-an association created to further the common interests of the members
Dictators-rulers who have total control and authority over a nation
Drought-sustained period with no precipitation and restricted water access
Economic depression-a period of economic decline characterized by high unemployment, low levels of production, and business failures
Prosperity-flourishing economic activity resulting in wealth for a large number of people
Veteran-a person who has served in the military.
Treaty-a formal agreement between countries, often for the purposes of trade, peace and security, human rights, and promoting cooperation.
Assassination-willfully killing a prominent person by a sudden, secret, or planned attack.
Propaganda-biased or misleading information used to promote a political agenda.
U-boats-German submarines which were a key weapon in WWI.
Trench warfare-A type of warfare where opposing forces attack and defend from permanent trenches, leading to long periods of stalemate(no progress).
Treaty of Versailles-A peace agreement that ended WWI. Germany was forced to admit blame for starting the war, had to pay reparations, lost territory, and had to demilitarize.
