Parents and students,

Here is our review for our test on Friday.  We will be reviewing all of this information on Thursday, and the students will have a review to take home to study.  Additionally, I will be sending them home with their journal, which has the definitions for the test.

Here is our vocabulary word list for the week as well.  The students all wrote these vocabulary words in their journal, and they will be able to take their journal home on Thursday to study.  :

                                               Westward Expansion Vocabulary Words

1. Napoleon- leader of France who sold The Louisiana Purchase to the United States.
2. Thomas Jefferson-3rd President of the United States, who bought the Louisiana Purchase from France.
3. James Monroe-was sent by Thomas Jefferson to buy the Port of New Orleans from France. 
4. Acre-a unit of land. 
5. Pioneer-early settler of a region
6. Mississippi River-A major river in the US used for trade
7. New Orleans-city in Louisiana that has a major port.
8. Port-harbor town where ships load and unload.
9. Territory-part of the US not included as a state.
